An SLP takeover is when YOU as the student-led program takeover a Kiwanis meeting, usually a divisional council meeting!

  • Contact your local Kiwanis club / division to request to hold an SLP takeover and communicate with your board about this takeover event

  • Make cookies with your cabinet (CABINET BONDING!), making sure to include different options for those with food preferences

  • Hold a bake sale to sell the cookies at your SLP takeover event!

Raffle

Raffles are a simple and inexpensive way to fundraise, and also adds another exciting layer to your events!

  • Get approval from your advisors

  • The goal of a raffle is to sell as many tickets as possible, so it is important to have quality prizes for those who win!

    • To keep inexpensive: Include club merchandise already on hand, or contact local businesses to ask if they are willing to donate a small prize. For example, some restaurants will give away gift cards!

  • Plan when / where the raffle will be held and encourage members to bring cash to participate

  • Set up a table or booth at your event to sell the raffle tickets

  • Sell the tickets for no more than a few dollars each and try to include discounts for larger ticket purchases, such as $5 for 10 tickets!

  • At the end of the event, draw ticket(s) from your container and announce the winners!
